Even though the rally was for the ham radio operators the women had a chance to do some activities. We had a couple of afternoons where we worked on some crafts and of course we joined in on the potlucks and games,
It is very rare that I get in the picture as I always have the camera in my hand but Gary wanted proof that I really was there!
The pet area at this KOA comes complete with some toys for the dogs to play on. Gary couldn't get Lady to walk up the ramp - she just jumped on it and seemed to enjoy being King of the Hill, or should I say "Queen of the Hill!"
One of the afternoons Gary and I had a chance to teach some of the people the game of Bocce. We had another couple that also had a set of Bocce balls but had never played the game. We got two games going and I think everyone enjoyed it.
One of the games we played in the evening was a version of Bingo ... with a twist. If someone else had a prize you wanted when you got your Bingo you could trade them for something you had. There was quite a scramble to be the last one with a ham radio device that was in the prize stash. Before we played that game we played "ARLA*" in memory of one of the members who had passed away unexpectedly. Her husband was thrilled as we all got "ARLA*" at the same time and all shouted her name loudly. It was great.
Here's the proof - I finally got back on "Penny" on Tuesday. It was great. Gary wasn't sure if he wanted to come to the ranch as last time I asked him I had my bad accident. I just knew all morning that it was the day to climb back aboard. I think Penny was a little excited, too. For now I will just keep her in the big corral until I am sure she and I are on the same page and she will follow all my directions. I can't wait to do it again!
This week and for the next 3 weeks I am in Placerville during the week to do some work at my old school. This week I am organizing and administering makeup tests for the State STAR Testing. The next 3 weeks I will be organizing and administering the Advanced Placement Tests where students are trying to get some college credits. It is nice to see former colleagues and especially our daughter and her family. The kids are all at the high school so I even get to see them during the day while I am working there.
Enough for tonight. I need to study the AP Coordinators Manual to see what is new this year!
