Back in the Saddle, Again! Dad N is home, too!

I went to Placerville to see friends and family and came home with a job!
Wednesday morning I drove into P'ville and arrived just in time to take Carole out to lunch. Before we left for lunch, though, I dropped in the Personnel office to see Leslie Baker - she had left a message that she wanted to talk to me. SURPRISE - she was checking to see if I would teach at EDHS for the rest of the semester, taking over for friend and colleague Mike Hennig who was out on a medical leave! I told her about some commitments I had that I was not willing to give up (8 days total) and she told me she would get back to me.
Carole and I went out for a nice lunch and had time to get caught up on some of our common friends before she had to return to work. I headed for EDHS to visit Teri and the math gang and when I arrived the first math teacher I ran into commented on how he was glad I was returning for the semester - I guess the DO had worked out the technicalities! After visiting with the administration I received my official call from the DO and I had a job without even trying! WOW!
Last evening I spent some nice time with Heather, Jason and all the kids. We went out to dinner, too! I asked them if I could rent a space at the Youngberg RV site for the rest of the semester and they agreed. The kids are happy to have a math tutor on location, again!
Today I met with the student teacher (one of my former students!) who had been teaching Mike's classes. He showed me a few things to bring me up to speed on the classes and I got a chance to ask some questions. I start on Monday!
On the way back to Dayton I stopped in Lake Tahoe to check on Dad N. He seemed to be doing ok, though I think he isn't quite sure what he should or shouldn't be doing. I hope he and Marie can keep all the instructions straight. Gary is going to try to talk to his doctor and discuss the situation.
Well,no pictures tonight. I laid awake most of last night thinking of all the things I need to do before I begin teaching again. I'm tired and I think I will try to post pictures this weekend. It is Dayton Valley Days and I may take my camera with me when we go walk the town!
Have a great Friday!
