Slowly Recovering - and a date set for surgery.

This is the first day I have been able to use my right hand to type. It feels great to do something normal, though it does take a little extra work!
Three weeks ago I had a bad accident and was life-flighted to Renown Hospital in Reno. I ended up with 9 broken ribs, broken clavicle, bruised lung, bruised arm and a concussion. I have definitely been blessed, though, as it could have been so much worse. It is remarkable to see and feel so much progress since then. Gary has been right by my side the whole time and has taken good care of me. We still have a way to go, but I am confident that I will be able to recover completely - I just need some patience.
I want to thank my friends and family for keeping up with me and for all the help we have been given. Meals, medicine, comfortable clothing have been brought in. Friends and neighbors have come by to stay with me so that Gary could get away for errands and work. Flowers and cards have come in to brighten up my surroundings. Magazines and puzzles books are here to help me pass some time. I am just now able to do some things on my own - like walk to the bathroom! I have been very dependent on everyone and I really appreciate all the help.
I will close this entry out with a note about my upcoming surgery - Dr. Edmonds will operate on me on Thursday, Feb 24th to put my clavicle back together. I don't know if he will use a plate and screws or just screws. I just hope he can fix it well enough that I can get physically fit and return to traveling, sewing and horses!
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY to all!
