We got off to a little bit later start today as we were enjoying talking to Doug & Bev, Doug's sister and brother-in-law, Chris & Gary and Andy, Doug & Bev's grandson. This is a picture of the Youngberg homestead - doesn't the house look great?
We stopped at the property that is for sale - it's 3.2 acres, has a gentle slope from back to front, an area with lots of trees, and an area that is open. This view is from one of the places I thought might be a good idea to build a house. It would need to have some tree branches trimmed up and one tree removed to have a nice view of the valley.
This is the same property looking East from the southwest corner. It actually is a corner lot with a small dirt road going up the west side of the property. It is great to have two access roads.
You need to ignore the bugs on the windshield - even after we cleaned them later in the day, it rained and then had dust blow on them. Windshield pictures are what they are! This was Oregon Highway 140 going east.

We need to take a long steady climb up the side of a plateau. It wasn't too bad, though I know a few people who would have had white knuckles from driving on it!
When we were near the top of this plateau I took a picture looking back toward the west. It was a beautiful drive today, though Gary did all the driving and I sort of relaxed and occasionally dozed off!
After a brief stop in Winnemucca to make sure our diesel tank was full, we drove on to Elko and stopped at a Walmart for the night. Supplies were bought in the store and we set the RV at the edge of the parking lot with the other travelers. When I last looked there were at least 6 RV's parked for the night.
Gary spent some time on the phone to get our internet connection from our cell phone set up again. I guess a few things had changed since we used it last year. At least we can have the internet now, wherever the cell phone has reception.
It's 11:39, so I'll sign off. We will be in Salt Lake tomorrow for just one night. We'll spend more time there when we return as we will visit with my cousin Donna and also go to the temple and the genealogy library at that time.
Good Night!
