It's Not "4 Sale" Anymore!

The weather was cold and dreary this morning and rained and drizzled as we drove in to Klamath Falls with Doug and Bev. We arrived in Sprague River Sunday afternoon and spent a nice evening getting caught up with the activities at the Youngberg camp, but today we were off to buy property!
The plan was to meet Ed (the property owner) at Denny's then go to Wells Fargo to notarize the transaction and to the county clerk's office to record the deed. It all went so quick and smooth that we were property owners within an hour!

Doug & Bev picked up granddaughter Hannah during the time we were at Wells Fargo and we went off to try to buy camera. I had done investigating on the internet the night before and knew what I wanted - but Walmart and Staples did not have it in stock. I decided to wait until we were back at the RV and just order it online.

A quick lunch at Long John Silver's (Hannah's choice) and we were off to pick up Andy from football practice. We ended up running in to Tami at the high school as she was on her lunch hour and didn't know Doug & Bev were in town and could pick Andy up. Long story, short, is that we were able to go see Tami & Bryan's house! They have begun renovations (the house needs lots of TLC) and lots of projects are under way. When Tami went back to work we headed back to Sprague River.

As soon as we got back I went online and ordered my camera - from Walmart. It should be at Doug and Bev's house by Thursday. At least we'll have it in time for the Labor Day weekend when Heather & Jason come up!

Well, I've waited long enough ... here are some pictures! Bev used her camera so we could record the first shots of OUR property!

This sign was posted near the front center portion of the property and was the only notice that it was for sale. We all took a walk after dinner to go check it out - and take it down!

The previous owner, Ed, had used HUGE spikes to attach the sign to the tree. It wasn't budging!
After I did my best to loosen the spikes Gary tried to take them out as well. They were not moving!

Doug told Gary just to hammer the spikes into the tree and through the sign (it was a metal sign) and it worked! Gary was working on the second spike at this point.

The sign was finally down! Not 4 Sale anymore! As we were taking the sign down we met the neighbor who lives across the road from us. His name is also Gary and he has LOTS of acreage that he farms for alfalfa hay. His property is the one you will see first when we take pictures of the valley that our house will face.

Plans for tomorrow include trying to find the corner markers of the property and mowing down the scrubby weeds and grass. The weather is supposed to be a lot better (no rain) so we should have a good work day. We also may help Doug check his beehive. He said he had an extra set of beehive 'gear' for one of us to wear. It should be interesting.
