The laundry is done, the refrigerator in the RV is emptied and the mail is sorted. Jason came over the hill last night to help Gary with the "hose" problem on the motorhome. After crawling in and under and all around the rig they discovered that the repair to the system was something that needed to be done in the shop. Too bad. That means another call to the extended warranty company and another payout for the deductible. I hope Jason enjoyed the trip at least! We plan on going to Placerville on Monday after stopping to see Wally and Marie in Lake Tahoe.
The fun part of yesterday was that we got to see Phil and Karen Wyatt, friends from long ago. We spent about 4 hours at Red's 395 BBQ restaurant as we got caught up on family adventures. Their older son, Matt, is involved in film and production in Los Angeles and their younger son, Nate, is a paramedic/firefighter in Ohio! Phil just retired from teaching and Karen is staying in the career for the time being. She has contracted Parkinson's Disease and her doctor thought the idea of staying active was the best thing she could do at this time. Phil and Karen will also have two students from China living with them this year! We gave them a little advice about foreign students from our experience as exchange student advisers. We look forward to keeping in touch with them. I could not find my camera before we left to see them so no pictures are available today. :-(
Gary has been sick all day today. We don't know if it is food poisoning or just a good case of the flu. He has been laying down or sleeping since about 11 this morning. Poor guy. He seems to have a fever, too. I'm encouraging water or 7-Up but he doesn't want anything. I hope he feels better soon.
We had some bad news from Mark & Heather today. The pregnancy is high risk right now according to the blood work and the sonogram and they are not sure what may happen. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. I think the next few days and hours will be important. Heather's parents are coming back to their house tomorrow to watch the kids so that Heather can stay as rested as possible.
There was some good news today. I did some more research on the property we are trying to buy in Oregon. I was able to find out that there were no liens or judgements against the current owner and the surveying and transfers of the land were on the up and up. It looks like it will be a good situation. We are supposed to meet with the owner on August 30th to make the transfer but need to contact him again and make sure we are still in sync.
Tomorrow's activities depend on how Gary is feeling. He was supposed to help Ron do sheet-rocking at Ron's sister's house. That's a question mark right now. I need to take more things out of the RV but it is in an inconvenient position due to the work Gary and Jason were trying to do. I may get to drive it myself to get it facing the right way! We (probably me) also need to do some weeding and trimming around the front yard. The back yard will have to wait a few days. I think after tomorrow we will start feeling like we are back in the groove. We will try to take some pictures of the grandkids, baby, Heather & Jason and Wally & Marie to put on the blog for Monday or Tuesday. I may not post anything else until then so I hope everyone will have a great weekend!
