Today was fun - and work. We spent a few hours finding the boundary markers for our land. We found three out of four by using the plot plan and 400 feet of tape measures! The fourth one was on rock so we had to just pile rocks to mark the spot. After that we walked the property to get a good idea of where we would build a house, drill a well, put in a driveway, etc. We marked out the spot where we think the house will probably be built someday. Until then we will just trim up the trees and cut down the "scrub" that has grown for so long.
After lunch Gary and Doug took Doug's tractor and the 'bushwacker' attachment and spent time knocking down the 'scrub' on over half the property. Gary had to walk ahead of the tractor to watch out for rocks and other foreign materials which would not be good for the tractor to run in to. Bev and I went into Klamath to rent a pole chain saw so that we can trim low hanging branches from the trees tomorrow. While we were gone the "accident" happened ..... Bev's camera fell off the tractor and under its 'bushwacking' blade ---- it is no longer in one piece. She had not had it for very long so it was especially hard to lose. We feel really bad about it, but there isn't much that we can do. Now we are both without a camera.
Tomorrow Gary and I are going to trim up the trees with the pole chain saw we rented. We need to do what we can before 2 pm because then we need to return it to Klamath Falls. I think we will be able to get quite a bit done but will probably be pretty tired, too. When we take it back to town I think I will do a little grocery shopping to get ready for the weekend. Thursday we plan on driving to LaPine and Bend to check on two log home companies and go to "Schlotsky's" deli for some sandwiches - Doug's favorite! Friday we expect Jason & Heather to be here in the early afternoon, Saturday we are going to a Tractor and Antique Engine event and sometime this weekend we will all go to Tami & Bryan's new house to have a BBQ. We might also go to a Lava Beds State Park just over the Calif-Ore state line. Sure hope to have our new camera for all these activities. (We may need to order one for Bev, too.)
We are all tired so bedtime will be welcome tonight. Have a great tomorrow!
