We're Getting Closer!

We have been completely enjoying ourselves the past 7 weeks but now that we are on our way home we are getting a little anxious. Our next stop will be to see Cousin Donna and her husband, Ken, in West Valley City, Utah. The plan is to spend the weekend visiting them and then go to the Salt Lake Temple and the Genealogy Library on Monday.
Today we crossed over the Continental Divide twice. The area between the two crossings is kind of like a 'no man's land' as the water in that plateau/basin does not drain in any direction! On the East of it the water heads toward the Atlantic and on the West it heads toward the Pacific!
Here go the rocks again. I'm afraid that a lot of pictures I took today had 'bug smear' on them as we cannot keep the windows clean.
We are only one state from home, now. We passed by Park City where part of the 2002 Winter Olympics were held. We usually avoid I-80 at this point so the territory was new to us.

What a mixture of weather ahead of us. It looks like most people are getting nice, fluffy white clouds but the poor souls under the rain cloud are getting dumped on!
Need I say more? Just my love of geology showing again!
How would you like to be driving on the interstate and see this truck in the lane in front of you? It is really a truck being towed - but when you first see it, it looks like a vehicle traveling the wrong direction!

We were only about 30 miles from Donna and Ken's house when we stayed for awhile along the side of the interstate, again. Don't even go there!
As you can tell, we did make it to our destination. We had a nice dinner out at Sizzlers and got to visit with Donna and Ken. After we came back to the house Gary helped Donna get her printer working for the computer, put on a virus protection program and helped her fix up a new home page. She should be good to go now! I showed Ken some of the most recent pictures of Mom & Dad and we visited until it was time to go to bed. (Except I am now writing on the blog!)

We are camped in the 'Bodamer RV site' in the back yard of Donna & Ken. The yard is about 1/2 acre and completely fenced so Apollo and Lady are free to roam! There is normally a colony of feral cats around here but I think they will probably find someplace else to live while we are here!

Gary got a chance to talk to Jennie & Heather tonight and I talked to Mark last night so at least we are up to date on what is going on in their lives - always interesting!

We hope all is well with all our friends and family ----- Good Night!
