Heading North, Traveling in 3 States!

Today we slowly got ready to leave.  I visited with our next door neighbors for awhile.  They currently have two cockatiels, a guinea pig and a cat and have been RVing for 23 years!  April said they have also had a 3 ft iquana lizard and a mouse in their menagerie.  I thought bringing two labs was an ordeal - I can't imagine housing the zoo that they have!
We finally left the park about 11 am and headed for highway 95.
I thought I would quickly take a picture before we got bug splats on the window.  It sure is nice having it crystal clear.

Before we left town we must have passed at least two dozen RV resorts and this one in the picture was loaded with palm trees!

As we traveled north on HWY 95 I kept noticing the odd top notches on the mountains ahead.  I am not sure if they are the cores of ancient volcanoes or just sandstone worn away by wind and water.

I think we may have passed through our final border patrol today.  This station didn't have all the equipment lining the roadway like the previous ones had.  All they asked was how many people were in our RV!

It's nice to see the color in the rocks and plants along the way.  We did see some flowers - mostly yellow or purple - as we made our way through the desert.  We crossed I-10 at Quartzite and kept going!

After a stop in Parker, AZ for some lunch we eventually found ourselves going by the Colorado River.  A little further north from here is the Parker Dam.

More great mountains!

This is one of many areas along the river with places to camp or resorts to stay in.  It looks like the state parks along the way are able to handle big rigs so maybe we will come stay at one of them another time.

We stopped for fuel where Hwy 95 and I-40 meet and then headed across the river into California!  I tried to take a picture of the California sign but it turned out too blurry.  That's okay as it was only a regular green highway sign and not too impressive.
Tonight we are staying at a truck stop in Searchlight, NV.  We have only a short distance to travel tomorrow and we will be at our Samboree site.  We will be on the go for the next two weeks!
