Today we traveled through contrasting vistas. We had the chance to see lots of Yucca trees on Hwy 395.
After meeting I-15 we had a short drive west into San Bernardino. It was nice to see a little snow in the pass.
Driving through San Bernardino we saw a lot of palm trees. It was a lot different scenery than the yucca trees in the desert!
We found another type of forest - a windmill forest, when we finally got on I-10. It will be our road of choice for the next 2000 miles!
Isn't this an odd combination? It was later mentioned that Penske only has trucks to rent so I guess they had no choice but to go to U-Haul for the trailer!!!
Not quite sure what happened to the tops of the trees - we saw several stands of trees like this.
Quartzite is in the valley below - after traveling through it I don't think I would be interested in staying in such a mass of people!
Desert sunsets are always so beautiful but I rarely get a picture to turn out so colorful!
Plans had originally been to stay in Blythe, CA or Ehrenberg, AZ, but we could not find a decent place to stay so we continued our travel east to Buckeye, AZ and stayed at a Walmart! We thought we could use their internet at the McDonald's but their internet did not work. Now you know why we didn't have this posted on time!
