Angry Bird and Ally Gator were ready to see new adventures.
Most of the I-10 corridor leaving New Orleans was over water, swamps and/or rivers. As we traveled west we did come across an accident as it was happening. When the traffic came to a sudden stop a truck in the lane next to us went out of control into the center divider, flipped over a few times and landed in the water below. Most everyone stopped, including us, to see what we could do to help. Some of the people were down in the water before we could get there and had taken the driver out of his vehicle - dazed, but okay. We were not needed as someone had already called 911 and plenty of others were there to help so we went back across the interstate and went on our way. I did not take any pictures as I was too concerned about making sure help was coming to remember or even want to bring my camera.
This is not a good picture of the "Welcome to Texas" sign, but it is there!
We spent the night at a Flying J in Baytown, Texas (exit 789) as we got ready to go to the Space Center on Wednesday.
