Camping on the Mississippi (Sun 4/26)

Who would know that Tom Sawyer still had a camp on the Mississippi? Well, we found it and that's where we are staying for two nights.
We had a scare when we got to the check-in at the camp. Apollo bolted out the door of the RV and headed straight for the river. Thank goodness there was a pond between us and the river and he was in it, happy as a clam. No treats for him. He is on permanent lock down while we are here. The river would have swallowed him up and we are taking no chances.
This picture is taken from our site. As you can see we are only yards from that great river. Its fun to see the barges go by - some of them are huge!
After we set up camp and had dinner we headed to Memphis, TN

Proof that we were actually in Tennessee!

This great hospital is where Devree (our neighbor and friend) is getting all the help she can to fight her brain cancer. We actually bypassed this on the way to see Devree and Shana at their apartment at Target House II. St. Jude provides the housing, food, airline trips (to home and back) and all that they need at this important time.

We got a quick photo of Devree and Shana at the end of the visit. Devree has had a rough first week back at St. Jude as they are running tests and getting everything ready for her to start chemotherapy this week. We will come back tomorrow to see them again.
