The first part of the morning was spent getting the rig ready for travel. Gary still needed a bracket for the muffler/exhaust pipe connection so Pam went out on the town to find one. A Cummins dealer was found and navigated without any problem. It only took Gary 5 minutes to install it but it took Pam an hour to get it!

Can you believe that Pam finally got to drive the RV? 130 miles behind the wheel and no accidents! The first few minutes were challenging as I was trying to gauge the space in the lane and how to see everything in the mirrors. Gary was a little anxious so there were a few moments I thought he might come unglued, but he soon saw that I could manage well enough. We were going East on I-40 and had already traveled 100 miles out of Albuquerque before I took over so the main traffic was big rigs and they were fairly far apart. Gary asked me why I was going 70 mph when I had merged onto I-40 - boy that rig has power now !!!

Today's weather was warm and sunny and gaining heat as the day went by. When we reached Amarillo, Texas we stopped at exit 60, Oasis RV Resort. The full hookups only cost $20 (bailout special) and there is free WIFI and free laundry! The camp is just off I-40 and not too far out of town. It is set up for lots of big rigs and has a pool, rec room, spa and other amenities. I'd recommend it for a stay when you are traveling east or west on I-40.
I am almost caught up on the blogging - yeah! I really want to look into the WIFI program thru our cell phones so that we can use internet anywhere we have cell coverage, even while we are traveling. We will not need to have a two year contract and can turn the feature on and off at any time. Something else we have learned on our trip.
So long for now. I need to do some quick study on our new photo organizing program before I enter more blogs. TTFN.
