What Goes Up Must Come Down (4/20)

This was the day I had been looking forward to. Barbie, Stan and I were able to go up with Albuquerque Sweet Escape Ballooning this morning. Our pilot (and owner) was Dave and he was great. We actually helped crew the flight - balloon set up and take down. Our flight lasted about an hour or so, got to 2200 feet above the ground (elevation of our starting point was about 5000 feet) and we had a high of 10 mph! For those who would like to calculate the size of our balloon, the air capacity was about 105,000 cubic feet! ( V=4/3 x pi x r x r x r) What was the radius of the balloon? (Sorry, couldn't help but stick a math problem in there!)

The rest of the day ... the last day of the rally was Good Sam Day and the theme was "Fiesta" so of course there was Salsa Dancing, Salsa making and decorating "Sam"breros. I chose the latter and came home with a sombrero decorated with chili peppers.

The day was sunny and warm, we went to our final seminars "Electrical Basics" (Gary already knew this stuff) and "Picasa Photos" (of which Pam needs to study and learn how to reduce pixel sizes). The rest of the time was spent doing last minute checks of the exhibits and talking t the Waterless Cleaner distributor about possibly joining his group. Gary really likes the product and feels it might be something he could do during our travels.

Papa Doo Run Run was the musical group this evening. They used to tour with the Beach Boys and had a great repertoire of songs from the 60's. This picture cut out the keyboard player but it was clearer than the others so this is the one you get! (Remember to click on the picture to see a bigger version then click on the "back" button to get back to the blog.)
The evening was actually warm so we visited with our neighbors again before heading in to start organizing our rig for the next day's travel.
