Boy, has it been hot around here! With the heat index (kind of like wind chill) our friendly Louisville has been 110 and 114 degrees! Our electricity is 30 amp so we can only run one air conditioner. Our rig was cooled to 87! We finally decided to unhook from power and use our generator for about 3 hours so we could use both our ACs and cool us down before we went to bed.
Saturday was Good Sam Day and as the people came in we had a bluegrass group that kept us surrounded with music. They actually performed for about 3 hours or maybe even longer. I was busy handing out Nevada information and talking to the people who came by. Gary was helping with bean bag baseball. The theme for the day was honoring the "Louisville Slugger " so we all wore baseball shirts and had fun!
This is the table that I sat at almost all day. The Nevada Tourism Commission had given us for boxes of 'Travel Nevada' brochures so I handed those out as well as encouraged people to come to our Nevada Samborees for this fall and next spring. It is amazing how many people just think of gambling and Las Vegas when you ask them to come to Nevada. I tried telling them about the many other places to visit and things to see and do. I may have persuaded a few to consider visiting!

This teardrop trailer was the smallest, least expensive ($6300) and simplest, but also not for everyone. It was funny to see that it was parked right next to the most expensive one on the lot! Someone had a bit of humor when planning that!
We found our Albuquerque friends today, or I should say they found us! Stan & Barbie are full timers and we originally hoped to camp together at this rally. It didn't work out this year but we still spent a few hours with them in the afternoon and made plans to eat dinner together on Sunday. I will make sure to take a picture of the four of us to put on the next blog entry.

Each night there are slide shows of pictures taken during the day, then general announcements and rally business before the entertainment begins. Saturday night Gary and I joined the parade of flags as they honored all the states that were there. It's too bad we didn't think of having someone take our picture while we were in the front with all the states and their flags. As you can see by the picture above, the hall is filled with rally attendees each night!
Another not so hot picture, but it does remind me who was putting on the show. This was a band called "Super Diamond" as they sang only Neil Diamond songs! They did pretty good and it was nice to be familiar with all the songs. Gary and I had been to a REAL Neil Diamond concert several years ago so it was hard to compare, but this group did okay!
I am writing this on Sunday morning as I didn't get a chance to do it last night. We are doing a little straightening and cleaning of the RV this morning before we go back to the rally for a few seminars.
We hope you have a great day - we're off to the Rally!
