Happy Independence Day!

Here's hoping your 4th of July celebrations were grand!
We were glad to have a waterproof vehicle and not a tent or handcart! You won't be able to tell from these pictures, but it rained almost all day long - beginning about 4:00 am this morning. We actually have pools of water sitting all over the campground. Instead of using our BBQ we had our hamburgers cooked on the George Foreman!

After dinner the rain had stopped so we went out for a walk. Only a few of the campers were outside but those who did seemed to have family with them. I wish our family could be here, too. Apollo and Lady are doing great and love to greet people - and the other dogs.
The campground owners are putting on a fireworks show of their own tonight. They have another 3 vehicles with a stash just like the one pictured. They are already shooting off rockets and lighting glow worms. They said when it gets dark they will light up the bright ones.

Not too much else to report for today. We relaxed, watched "Independence Day" (our yearly ritual) and did a little straightening up. Tomorrow we plan to go to a railroad museum in Colfax, IA and a Dutch Village in Pella, IA, on our way to Keokuk, IA. Keokuk is across the river from Nauvoo, Ill. It is forecast to rain all week so we will wait to go into Nauvoo on Tuesday and just take our time getting to camp tomorrow.
