Today's travel took us from Salt Lake City, Utah to Laramie, Wyoming. The first part of the trip took us through a great canyon with interesting rock formations.
We went through the same storm a couple of times, and it passed us over a couple of times. We stopped in Rock Springs at the Western Wyoming Community College to look at a Dinosaur exhibit. As we ate lunch (before we went in to the college) the storm caught up to us with ferocious winds and hail. When we came out of the college the sky had cleared. Of course, we caught up to the storm again, drove through it, stopped for fuel and it came on us again. We drove through it for the third time before we stopped in Laramie for the night!
They must have a great science department at the college as their dinosaur exhibit was extensive. We also found a wildlife exhibit with over a hundred stuffed or mounted animals from all over the world. As we were looking at a fulcrum a Geologist/Paleontologist came up to us and started telling us about all the wonderful prehistoric finds they have discovered in Wyoming. He must have talked to us for 20 minutes. It was like having our own private guide, though we never left the building!
Note: I think we bought some property in Oregon! We talked to the owner tonight and he will meet us in Klamath Falls at the courthouse before Labor Day weekend to sign it over to us - I can't believe it! My long standing dream to have a "horse ranch" (a place I can live and keep a horse!) might come true. WOW!
