Thur - Gary is Cooked, Pam is Pubbed Out!

No rain today - just hot, hotter and I think hottest day yet! Gary spent 7 hours parking RV's in the sun, poor guy, and got slathered in Aloe gel when he got back to the motor home. I got to be inside but it was a madhouse for the Publications Day I was working at. I guess when free hats and magazines are being offered everyone comes early. We gave out 2000 hats within the first hour and all those attendees also took free magazines.
Today was sponsored by Trailer Life, Motorhome and Woodall's Publications. Besides the free hats and magazines they had a Wheel of Prizes that the people above were standing in line to spin. I did try it myself and got a chance to put in the drawing for a washer/dryer combo. I was not allowed to get a ticket for the raffle of door prizes because I was helping out today.
This picture shows some of the boxes we had already emptied of free magazines before it was even 10:30 a.m. There were also camping directories, cook books, RV repair guides, and assorted other books that were for sale.

I took a break at 11:00 to attend a rehearsal for our Good Sam parade of flags that will be done at the Saturday night entertainment/program. I think we had state directors from at least 35 states represented here. We are not state directors, but were asked by our director to take his place representing Nevada. I think it will be fun marching in with all the people! We will get seats in the very front and center of the auditorium when we are done and the entertainment for Saturday is a Neil Diamond Tribute band. Sounds great to me!
After the practice I went back to the Publications area and helped out until 2 pm. Gary then joined me and we looked at some of the exhibits from different RV suppliers, etc. We did buy a collapsible ladder and also a flag pole that can be used at home as well as the RV. We were both bushed and after returning to our pooches and taking them out for a walk we got a bite to eat at an Arby's restaurant across the street from the Expo grounds. I guess we will miss out on the nightly program again tonight as we want to spend a little time with Apollo and Lady. They have been doing pretty well in the RV but I know they would love to see us for awhile.
Gary has still been outside the last 1/2 hour doing some maintenance on the RV so I hope he will stay inside now, cool off and rest!
